Closure (The sum of vectors is also a vector)

          a + b = c

a b c b a c

Exercises: As appropriate, sketch geometric depictions for the following algebraic rules:

Commutative

          a + b = b + a          (Click here to see one depiction.)

Associative

          (a + b) + c = a + (b + c)          (Click here to see one depiction.)

Additive inverse and zero vector (depicted by a point)

          a + (–a) = 0

          a + 0 =

Subtraction

          a b = a + (–b)
